The diminutive, distinctive Mini Cooper enjoys celebrity status in the automobile world. The black leather interior of her new-style BMW Mini makes cockney singer Lily Allen “Smile” as she drives around her beloved London. Minis are perfect for city living, their small proportions making it easier to find a parking spot. New Mum and former child star Charlotte Church has been a Mini owner for years and listed a Mini convertible amongst her heart’s desires when drawing up her 18th birthday present wish-list in 2004. Over the pond, Hollywood stars are downsizing. The Mini’s fans Stateside include Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Goldie Hawn, Elijah Wood and Madonna. “I Know What You Did Last Summer” star Love-Hewitt can often be seen driving her Mini Cooper along Los Angeles’s boulevards, and perhaps the pint-sized Mini appeals to the Hobbit in “Lord of the Rings” star Wood. The Material Girl could no doubt have her pick of the world’s cars, but she has a real soft spot for her Mini.
